Joonoo Kim is a Ph.D. candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Texas at Austin under the direction of Dr. K. Suzanne Barber. His primary research interest is concerned with developing knowledge reasoning mechanisms for intelligent systems applications. The methodology includes (1) knowledge modeling/belief revision, (2) trust modeling/learning, and (3) soft-security in open, dynamic, uncertain, and insecure environment. A central application of his work is to intelligent agents in distributed information network such as e-commerce or digital library, where modeling and gathering information based on the quality of information and information sources are crucial to the agents. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (Korea). Joonoo is a member of AAAI and IEEE.
